The Smithy, Anstruther

This 17th/18th century smithy is believed to have been the stables for Dreel Castle at one time, and is being converted from a building At Risk in the “Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland” to a 2 bedroom house. The Grade C building will be retained with all windows intact, so an internal full-height light well will be the focal point in the centre of the building, with sliding glass screens to the first floor bedrooms. The ground floor will become open plan living, kitchen and dining.

Builder: Murray & Wilson, Anstruther
