Albert House, Mumbles village

This former public house in the heart of Mumbles was granted planning permission in late 2016 for a second floor below a new roof with traditional dormers, having been noted as being a “vast improvement in terms of visual amenity”. By raising the eaves and roof height, the property will assume a late Georgian proportion which will benefit urban cohesiveness and long views from the seafront. A strong profiled cornice will divide the entablature, stressing the proportion and casting a shadow as the sun moves into the south west. The new floor will contain bedrooms and ensuites.
