The Seapoint Development

To set a new benchmark for sustainable design in Swansea, Seapoint has been designed to maximise orientation and solar gain, while extending the pedestrian network in the Maritime Quarter.

Seapoint will thus seamlessly mesh with the immediate area, with 3-5 storey blocks forming a new square; the Tower of the Nets will be repositioned in the new space which will provide a public garden and a herb garden. Parking facilities will be on the lower level to utilise the natural fall.

In addition to a variety of apartment sizes and types, the project will incorporate artist/craft studios and gallery, yoga centre, climbing wall (inside a glass structure), padel court, restaurant, café, ice cream parlour and bike hire facilities. The proposals will differ from the new “hard” blocks currently being built in the Maritime Quarter by utilising timber (both structurally and as cladding), with a more organic finish.
